I love sushi! For those who don’t know, it’s a traditional Japanese cuisine that preps cooked rice with the traditional vinegar blended with seafood and other ingredients. Because it’s one of the popular food trends in the world, there are different variations of sushi besides the traditional raw seafood option like cooked meat, all vegetables, with lots of sauces, and sometimes deep fried. Sushi 10 is hands down one of my favorite places to eat sushi and also one of my favorite cheap eats places to go to. It’s located in the Japan Marketplace and it’s a must visit spot to go to. They offer traditional sashimi, nigiri, sushi rolls, and poké!
My usual sushi roll order that I get is the Spicy Crunch Salmon Roll. Inside it is salmon, tempura flakes, green onion, sesame seeds, and spicy mayo. This roll is bombbb! The crunch from the tempura gives a good texture to the softness of the sushi roll and it’s my all-time favorite there.
The other roll we order every now and then is the Seafood Fireworks Roll. This roll is a lot bigger than a normal sized roll, sometimes I have to take two bites. It has tuna, salmon, white fish, avocado, smelt roe, cucumber, and spicy mayo. This is one of the more pricier rolls on the menu but it’s well worth it, especially because of the amount of seafood that they use for it. Another delicious choice!
Now, one of the best things I get there, especially when I have a bigger appetite than normal, is the poké bowl. Compared to the one I got at Poke Bros, this one not only has more options of ingredients, it’s also a bigger portion. You have your choice of protein such as king salmon, smoked salmon, tuna, octopus, scallop, salmon (regular style), and veggie. The bowls have avocado, cucumber, red onion, red bell pepper, baby arugula, edamame, ginger, green onion, sesame seeds, shredded nori (seaweed), and a slice of lime to top it off. Also, you have a choice of white or brown rice, a choice of extra toppings (cilantro, jalapeños, tempura flakes, and pickled radish). You also get a choice of sauces to mix in such as Spicy Poké Sauce, Sweet Seafood Sauce, Spicy Mayo, and Wasabi Mayo. The depth of flavors are overwhelming, in a good way.
Overall, everything is not only rich in flavor, the amount of freshness Sushi 10 has is awesome. Since they’re right next to the Tensuke Market and they have a good selection of fresh seafood, you can taste it in each bite you have. Not only is it fresh, the portions are very generous and it is still one of the cheapest, if not the most cheapest places for sushi. If you love sushi and haven’t tried this place out yet, you’ve been sleeping on it because it’s one of the best!
